Miriam Beerman
(b. 1923, American)
Born 1923. Miriam Beerman’s paintings are anxiety ridden expressionist works rooted in the tradition of Abstract Expressionism and history paintings probing her political and personal heritage. Beerman received awards and honors from Pollock Krasner Foundation, Joan Mitchell Foundation and more. She also received an alumni award from Rhode Island School of Design in 2015. In 2015 Beerman had a collage retrospective at Lawrence University. Miriam Beerman, Expressing the Chaos, a film by Jonathan Gruber, was also released in 2015.
